Boneo Primary School has a proud tradition being one of the first educational institutions established on the Mornington Peninsula. The school first opened in 1873 on the corner of Browns and Boneo Roads. We then moved to the corner Boneo and Long Point Road 1885 – 1921; from there we were settled at our current location in 1921. Boneo Primary School is proud of its long history and ongoing commitment to the education of students.
New Buildings
In last years State budget it was announced that our school would at long last be provided with the permanent facilities that our community had long sought. The much anticipated news recently came through from the Education Department that a total budget of $3,193,392 had been approved and that our School Council could now enter into a contract to construct our new facilities.
The rebuilding works commenced over the Christmas holidays in 2006 with the relocation of our buildings to make a site for the construction of our new school and the redevelopment of our grounds. This should be completed in 2008. When the new buildings are completed, Boneo will be one of the ‘showpiece’ schools in Victoria with facilities second to none.
